Day 193

I am grateful for swallows.

The barn swallows that swoop, dash, zip, soar, and glide around here are so pretty. Their blue fairly shines and glints in the sun, and their aerial acrobatics are entertaining as they catch evening insects in flight. I love that they do a number on the mosquitoes.

We had a nest on our front porch a couple of years ago, which was fun when we got to see the babies, but bad when we had to duck and dodge the dive-bombing, protective Mom and Dad. And their poop wasn't so great either, but we knew their presence would be short-lived and just enjoyed them whilst we could.

Thank You, Lord, for these pretty mosquito-eaters.
