I am grateful for anniversaries.
An anniversary is the yearly recurrence of the date of a past event and the celebration or commemoration of that date. They remind us of a day we want to remember, no matter the reasons. We party over wedding anniversaries. We lay flowers over griefs. We remember.
Today is my parents' anniversary. They were married 53 years ago. For most of my life, their anniversary made this day more about celebrating their love and life together than about candy and costumes. That's still true today. I remember.
Thank You, Lord, for these dates.
On being grateful 365 days a year (or 366 in this case).
