Day 111

I am grateful for ponds.

We have two seasonal ponds that just make me happy. They provide a change in the scenery that's serene and welcome. The largest one is fun for little ones to wade in because it's so shallow. We planted a willow right next to the smaller one, hoping all that water will give it a good start.

This pond is one I hike past on a neighbor's property. The sound of frogs in the evening can be so loud, but as they sense my approach and the rush of the dogs, they fall silent as one, as if flicked off by a switch. There are turtles in this one too, so that's fun. About once a year, one will randomly wander onto our property.
