Day 269

I am grateful for Abraham Lincoln.

I'm not a history buff, but even as a kid, I always enjoyed learning about our sixteenth president. He seemed like a really nice guy with a self-deprecating humor, tolerance for the less wise, and a faith he leaned on in everyday matters as well as in times of crisis. I believe he was the best man for the job in that complicated, family-rending period that tore our nation apart. I admire his courage, wisdom, intellect, faith, and devotion to his family and country.

Thank You, Lord, for this great leader for such a time as that.
