Day 270

I am grateful for Killing Lincoln.

This account of the last days of Abraham Lincoln relates the battle tactics of the leaders of the War Against the South and reveals the personality, background, and motives of the assassin, John Wilkes Booth. It is full of conversations, schemes, strategies, and peripheral figures I have never heard of until this book.

We checked out the audio and listened to it on our way to Colorado Springs last June. It was engaging, informative, and enlightening. Read by the author, he does a great job of narrating his own material with the one exception of his pronunciation of the word "cavalry," which is consistently and annoying pronounces "Calvary," something he should know better than to do as a practicing Catholic. Other than that, it's a definite recommend.

Thank You, Lord, for this good read.
